Me and all about why I do what I do and why I did what I did

Hi This is me……. I thought it be good to introduce myself again and what I am here and all about.

I’m Georgie – I currently am an owner of a quirky lifestyle boutique, set in the heart of Petworth, West Sussex where I live with my 2 kids, David the Dog and Michael the cat.

Originally I started out as a fine artist and a passion for painting I completed my A levels which included Art & Business Studies… Once getting told by my beloved Tutor for Business Studies if I didn’t rock up with conditioner still left in my hair and spent less time in the studio I might get the grades! Alas I didn’t listen and smashed my Art A Level but didn’t quite make the grades with Business.

After a change of heart and going to University late – I decided that there must be something out there that would combine my creativity along with a passion for knowing and understanding business. So I embarked on a degree in Design Management for the Creative Industries at Nottingham Trent! This gave me such an incredible amount of knowledge in how Art & Design Shapes pretty much everything, Marketing, Branding, Advertising, Business and much more! Moving on I then went into several roles that worked around my family – although not fulfilling my passion – the time taught me work values, friendships and in everything you do in life there is always something to be taught and taken from each experience even FREE beer (I worked for a craft brewery for 3 years ((my dad never forgave me for leaving! lol)). Last year I embarked on a short diploma in online marketing to bring me up to speed and I now spend much of my time studying social media, taking short crash courses and absorbing as much information as I can to run both my Independent Boutique (the practical exercise) and now my Business Consultancy where by I can share advise and create practical attractive websites, give 1:1 support in running your own business, and how to use social media effectively (or just how to use social media)!

Here is where I have found my happy space – The web deigning allows me to utilize all my skills from my art back ground, my degree taught me to knowing what a good website needs (branding/marketing) my shop has taught me how they need to function, and then I also get to work 1:1 with people giving them the support and encouragement they need from a real prospective and someone that has first hand experience.

I value myself as a people person with a huge amount of understanding into what drives us to make these leaps of faith into starting out in the world of business and look forward to what’s to come from this business.
